Lawrence Auster, 1949-2013

Laura Wood has a brief eulogy.

Larry is gone and so is the country he was born in.  To complain of either would be as superfluous.  One pathology of our age is a childlike credulity in the magical efficacy of complaint.  Don't complain, build.  We have done well at complaining; so what?  What have we built?

Gil-galad was an Elven-king.
Of him the harpers sadly sing:
The last whose realm was fair and free,
Between the Mountains and the Sea.

His sword was long, his lance was keen,
His shining helm afar was seen,
The countless stars of heaven’s field,
Were mirrored in his silver shield.

But long ago he rode away,
And where he dwelth none can say,
For into darkness fell his star,
In Mordor where the shadows are.

RIP Lawrence Auster
You will be missed.

Subject: creating a white society

Dear Mr. Auster,

You say that "Whitopias, as VDare calls them, are essential to the health of our society and the health of the white race, but they’re not enough. They need to become consciously white communities, and ultimately to grow and coalesce into a nation-wide movement that aims at creating a white society..."

I agree, but a proper immigration policy will be needed also. Here is a scheme that seems to me to have some merit :

1. Anyone who is already a citizen remains a citizen; anyone who isn't a citizen remains a non-citizen unless one of the following apply to them:

2. The child of a citizen is a citizen.

3. The parent of a citizen is a citizen provided that they are also a resident in the country in question for X number of years.

4. Anyone who becomes a citizen of another country loses his/her citizenship.

5. Children of unknown parentage found in the country are citizens

Of course by strictly applying this idea of "citizenship law," the emergence of a first generation immigrants (a family to be born in a particular country), seems to be impossible, because there must be a first generation of immigrants,'living' in a particular country, who came from abroad - people who were NOT already citizens; people who were NOT children of citizens in the country; people who were NOT parents of a citizen in the country yet!

The issue about the first generation of citizens was noticed by Aristotle in his Politics, where he stated that the general principle of "a citizen is a son of citizens"

breaks down at the beginning, since at the foundation of the city, some people are made citizens whose parents were not.

The gist of my idea is that it avoids the creation of a citizen body composed of mutually isolated groups which are detrimental to civic unity. To cite Aristotle once again, a multitude of diverse groups do not at once acquire a common spirit and are the cause of tensions and revolutions.

This scheme aims for the mean between the extremes of (i) isolationism, and (ii) acceptance as citizens with superficial criteria such as the accident of one's birthplace or a bureaucratic procedure of naturalization. Under this scheme, an immigrant group that is really compatible with the citizens of a country will gradually be assimilated by intermarriage, rather than abruptly (and perhaps undeservedly) by bureaucratic fiat.

Sincerely Yours,

Gilbert De Bruycker

I sometimes wonder what could have been Lawrence Auster (as arch-Zionist !), was so fascinated by Jesus Christ?

I cannot entirely rule out the possibility that he was influenced by Ouspensky: an entire chapter of "A New Model of the Universe" was devoted to the study of the New Testament.

And also influenced by Maurice Nicoll, one of the disciples of George Gurdjieff, who wrote "The New Man: An Interpretation of Some Parables and Miracles of Christ"

It makes me wonder if "going Walter White" isn't a viable strategy to break one part of progressivism (the violent underclass). A long march through the criminal institutions, so to speak, by replacing violent underclass gangs with a faceless, transnational organized crime syndicate whose long term goal is to wipe out violent ethnic gangs and keep underclass crime purely business-like (with a healthy, yet paradoxical, respect for law and order). An underworld sovereign power that does what the cops and courts refuse to do. In a way, this is how underworld crime really was run in the past. It's funny how progressivism has infected crime in the same chaotic, anti-authoritarian way that it has infected politics.

What has MM built? A framework that forces the intellectually honest to chose between Reaction and the Stross admission: "Yes I am a Universalist / descendant of bizarre Levellers/Quakers. All of us are."

That's enough for now.

Should we build a Dark Tides Foundation? Arguably, not yet.

Should we build a Jacobite secret society? Arguably, not yet.

Should we build a public, American Royal Stuart Society? Arguably, not yet.

Should we build a Shadow USG to prepare for the transition? Arguably, not yet.

We don't know what to build.

In retrospect, it was perfectly natural for the end of the Cold War to transform the Indian government and economy. They went from 'non-aligned' to 'aligned' and that was that. But who predicted what they would build, before they built it?

We don't need to build a separate ruling elite because there is already an existing elite: business owners. What we need to do is defund the batshit crazy fourth branch of government, the Cathedral Industrial Complex.

If the "fourth branch" of government implodes financially, then we go back to three branches of government where business oligarchs run the show as they did from 1776 to 1932.

Spandrell: I wonder what God thinks of converting in your deathbed.

To any Catholic who has lived for some time in the company of God’s grace and providence, Auster’s conversion in his final week does not seem like a last-minute leap into the arms of nonjudgmental Lord, but a miracle of grace which had long been in preparation, which I’m sure many of his friends and readers had prayed for assiduously; and which, as we have now all witnessed, was accomplished with such remarkable art, such poetry of timing and humility, such marvelous interaction of grace and works with the former supervening, that the mercy of Almighty God in the whole affair is quite clearly discernible.

We thank God for Auster, in death more so than in life. We may have lost a companion but we have gained an intercessor. And who, in the very presence of such a miracle, could even think to quibble about “eleventh hour workers” in spite of our Lord’s dire warning? Rather, we hope and believe that such grace be granted us as well.

The arc of Auster’s life has confirmed us in the knowledge that he who seeketh, findeth. It is undeniable that Larry sought the truth. This, lest it needs be said, is not to validate everything he ever said or did, some of which seems quite wrong to me. But we see how he was conducted, in spite of his quite human failings, toward the truth which he sought, and has now received it in its plentitude. Deo gratias.

We need to stop stimulating their immune system - so dismantle the Conservative and Libertarian movements.

I understand your disdain for the business class, but can't agree with your assessment of it. The business class isn't Cathedral because the business class has to struggle just to get even the most minimally pro-business legislation, like cap-gains cuts, passed. The Cathedral will ally with business to pass legislation only if the legislation helps the Cathedral more than business (e.g. immigration of racially incompatible non-white immigrants). But if business and Cathedral interests ever conflict such as on tax rate cuts, then the business sector is demonized mercilessly by the Fourth branch of government.

The business sector is guilty of cowardice, of course, but the technocrat liberals in both American and Europe view them overall as an enemy that has to be destroyed one regulation at a time.

April 1, 2013 at 8:18 PM
Anonymous The Undiscovered Jew said...

In the event the Fourth Branch/Cathedral collapses, the other three branches of government would go back to being the tools of business oligarchs, as was envisioned by the founding fathers when they cooked the US Constitution. And, I must add, the founders were almost as eager to restrict the right to vote to a small elite as was any 18th centuryEuropean aristocrat.

The idea the founders ever wanted the average man to have anything above the admittedly generous basic rights set down in the Constitution is laughable.

Thus, anything that returns America to constitutional principles will, by definition, hand control of the country over to corporate oligarchs.

On the issue of mass immigration and whether we would want corporate oligarchs to run it, we did have whites only immigration during the Gilded Age, and we would still have it if we didn't have a rogue technocrat branch of government screwing everything up. If the Cathedral collapses, it would be possible to get a pro-white immigration policy because support for the Cathedral's policies would implode without the massive level of propaganda they generate.

Defunding the Cathedral alone would be sufficient to move America back to conservatism because there would no longer be a propaganda machine available to resist a preference cascade back to more naturally popular policies.

What I get is a bunch of neo-nazi claptrap, NOBODY puts their brain out there and pokes holes, and SOME 9the good ones) say HOLY SHIT! this is new and it just might fucking work!

The question is: is this community the kind of community that actually moves the discussion, or just a bunch of yammers each grabbing the conch and not listening to what is said.

I out-think the Steve Sailers of the world, Steve Sailer hides from me, in a debate, he'd crumble like a bitch, and be exposed.

You and I are not the same. If you want to be the same, you have to either beat the argument, or ADOPT it as your own. Thats what intellect is.

Note, MM hasn't come to rescue you, because he can't. And thats sad, because he COULD lead you all, and tell you I've done out-thought him and delivered a new undiscovered thing to the table.

The war of the worlds at work...
Compare Matt Beck's style and content to Morgan Warstler's.
It's like admiring the Hotel de Paris in Monaco and turning around to find oneself face to face with the Loew's casino, in true Las Vegas style.
It reminds me why I left the mother country 32 years ago to go down with the European ship, gracefully.
Time to pull out Tocqueville and do a reread, or even a first read.
The writing has been on the wall for visionary people like him for quite some time.

I like Ecclesiastes a lot.
The poem that goes "to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven :
A time to be born, and a time to die ; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted ; a time to kill, and a time to heal ; a time to break down, and a time to build up ; a time to weep, and a time to laugh ; a time to mourn, and a time to dance ; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together ; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.... a time to love, and a time to hate, a time of war, and a time of peace...."
Ecclesiastes, chapter 3.
For everyone to meditate.
Let us hope that Lawrence Auster was able to rejoice in his own works...
A very significant act he did, converting to Catholicism, at whatever moment, moreover.
(I think that there was a priest present during Voltaire's last moments, by the way...)
More significant, perhaps, than much of the violent wind that the Internet constantly brews up ?

As for Auster: which god has his soul now? Obviously not Slaanesh. Not Khorne either, Auster never had much tolerance for emotional outbursts or even justified rage. Tzeentch is a possible fit, with the constant digging beneath the surface of events and re-interpreting plainly obvious facts to come to unexpected conclusions; but on the other hand it might also have him ranting about gnosticism. It is probably the only SF on the market that is consistently reactionary and anti-optimistic in terms of the assumptions about the universe it presents. Many of the people playing the games or reading the books are liberal types who get a sort of subversive thrill from its contrast with their knowledge of how the universe "really" is.

"Wartler: what is required as an intermediate step between 1) finding a correct organization of society, and 2) having a society organized that way?"

Worst case scenario, everything else failing.

Frankly, the solution I suggest is obvious if you:

1. WANT people to be able to cover their nut.

2. KNOW as an entrepreneur that many folks aren't able to earn their own nut, not while you can make a dime for the task of overseeing them at current rates.

So the best case is to Say 2 over and over, that's the part most people know but don't hear enough.

Finally, in the US, ALWAYS appeal to hegemony. We're a good country because the top 1/3 (A Power) are far more powerful than the .1% (B power) of the bottom 2/3 (C power).

it's only when C serves only B, that B can steal from C, but even over past 30 years, our A power has lost no wealth.

The problem in America is that the C power - the bottom 2/3 don't UNDERSTAND that they are just #3. They think it is R /D or 99% vs 1%.

But like China during the cold war the bottom, the C power should side routinely with A and B, keeping then at war with each other.

The top 1/3 are good people, and if your request of them is fair they will support it in decent enough numbers that policy will pass.

The top 1/3 also hate the .1%, and IF the C power said routinely, "we will help you shake the B power and you can reap most all the benefits" - the C power wouldn't gotten poorer.

I say all this, because ultimately, this plan is about the C power going to work for the A power everyday, while the B power picks up much of the tab.

I really do think its the black caucus and the preachers that drive this plan home.

I'm still working out the best way to get them thinking about it.
